Subculture Sage
Fresh off the back of their latest release 'T A K E 3 EP'; UK duo Subculture Sage zero in on global political undercurrents with heated new single, 'Aliens'. Written around the concept of 'fearing aliens at our door', the single is a riposte to current political tensions, immigration hysteria, fake news and the continued, polarising influence of Donald Trump. Served up with fiery, pent-up aggression by MC/songwriter Hypeman Sage and underpinned by DJ/producer Subculture Sounds' eerie, hollowed-out beats and pitched down vocal breaks, 'Aliens' resonates with those feeling disillusioned at the state of the world. The accompanying artwork, taken by photographer Aron Klien, also depicts an image shot in the 'Calais Jungle' -- the infamous, now defunct former refugee holding camp that was bulldozed by the French authorities at the back end of 2016. Ahead of dropping 'Aliens' on November 17, Subculture Sage will also be playing a live, headline show at Oslo in Hackney on November 7.
