Montreal, June 2022 - Formerly known as Snail Kid, Greg Beaudin presents today his first single as a solo artist Woah la! (feat. Eman). Woah la! is the first song that was officially recorded for the album. For the singer and songwriter, it's a reaffirmation of who he is, where he comes from and where he stands in the current hip hop scene. To do this, he called upon his longtime friend and influence Eman, who also had a lot to say and a similar position to his own. The "bridge" is provided by a talented friend: Tessita, who transports the song into her world for four bars. The writing and recording of this song took almost two years, which allowed to add a lot of ideas in the production including the recording of horns arranged by Philippe Brault. BIO - Greg Beaudin Greg Beaudin, also known for many years as Snail Kid, is a singer-songwriter who has always stood out on the Quebec hip-hop scene. Not only does he have a good flow and an incredible musical ear, the rapper also stands out for his acting skills. Being an improvisation enthusiast and rap battles fan, Greg started his career by participating in several WordUp! Battles where he met other artists with whom he formed the group Dead Obies in 2011; a hip-hop reference in Quebec. In 2016, along with his brother David Beaudin-Kerr, aka Jam, and his Jamaican-born father, Robin Kerr (Uprising), the group Brown Family was born. From this family union comes their first album Brown. Juxtaposing hip-hop, reggae, soul and dancehall, their first album was a great success. The group then toured the province of Quebec, making a lasting impression on the public with their unifying music, their committed lyrics and their family history. After participating in the historic Quebec rap tour L'Osstidtour alongside Alaclair Ensemble and Koriass, a tour nominated at the ADISQ in the category Show of the Year - Singer-Songwriter in 2017, Brown Family launches the POPLUV EP, featuring a few songs with a pop and summer flavor. In the fall of 2019, Brown Family is back with their new opus brown baby gone, once again pushing their introspection through all the nuances that define them, but this time tinged with a deep desire to escape and freedom. In 2020, Greg Beaudin appears on the song Pain Blanc on Charlie Shulz' album SVP. He also gets the main role in the second season of the web series Dominos directed by Zoe Pelchat on Tv5. In 2021, he collaborates on the song No Way which appears on the EP Bettta of Jam as well as on the single Knock Out of the album Home Run of 20Some. In the spring of 2021, Brown Family participates in the Royality project on the song Pull Up in collaboration with Raccoon. The group then transports us in a unique roots-reggae flavored piece entitled Fireman produced especially for the compilation CISM - Les chants du 30e. In 2022, he announces his signature with the De Launiere agency and performs with the band Dead Obies for a special concert in collaboration with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. Greg Beaudin is back today with the single Woah la! featuring his long time friend Eman, a perfect preview of his upcoming solo project!
