Founded in the summer of 1979 as a German electronic rock band by Rainer Sauer (RAIS) with Axel 'Pino' Grzybowsky (aka DJ "Dr. Scissors") and expanded in early 1980 with guitarist Thomas Kapke. Later, the drummers Seppl Niemeyer and Michael Schlundt, bassist Martin Latham and sometimes even Christopher Franke of Tangerine Dream appeared in the band. There was even a tiny collaboration between Sauer and Mike Oldfield on the Voyager album.
