August 24 - 2nd single "Island" September 7 - 1st video/3rd single - "Too Fast" - shot by MOB, edited by Xavier MC September 21 - 4th single "Upgrade". September 28 - Release album & release party at Le Belmont. ALBUM DESCRIPTION; 199V's "twentytwo" has a theme that anyone can relate too; change. V's album revolves heavily around his lifestyle change following his first album and death of his friend Valentino. While most of it was produced by Jei Bandit (who's a well known for his dark vibes, heavy 808 uses and powerfull drums) the album also feature stellar production by Planet Giza, jamvvis, VXNYL & Dear Lola who's well known to be one of WASIU's main producer & DJ. The opening track, "Become" filled with claims like "This is it I think I'm never changing, higher up i think I'm elevated" & "I'm a monster now, know what I was and I started" perfectly set the tone for the following. "Too Fast" can literally be titled as a comeback track with him flexing on anyone who denied him what he's coming for. The video for this one was shot back in may, and is planned to release on september 7 as our 3rd single. His deepest track on the album, "Valentino", starts with V literally speaking in the perspective of his dead homie. With a "dreamy" vibe inside the instrumental, he tries to envision the suffering of someone using drug to a certain extend "I had to make me a remedy, I'm not your regular type imma need something more heavy go get me my medicine". He then, comes back to himself, giving knowledge of his personal experience "Test your luck, you wanna get this dough, take these drugs, you wanna get this high feel this snow". Upgrade is the fourth single and last one before the release of the project. Planned to release on September 21st. Upgrade sum up all the changes in a glorious way using a much more orchestral instrumentation. V delivers a hook that sounds like a relief "Upgrade, I never changed no". The project lead single to be released on August 15th, "Way Too Much", featuring label mates Jei Bandit & JT Soul (fresh off his #10 chart debut project in France) is an unapologetic ode to abuse, in every sense of the term. V proudly sing in the hook "if I did something stupid I'm not sorry" before bringing some competitivity towards the rap scene with bars like " I got love for my city but they hate too much, well we the best in this b*** so they can't do much I got" & "I see 'em wanna copy paste they wanna control-V" Bandit & JT Also bring their A game with well constructed 16 that keep you wanna replay the song. "Island" being the second single releasing on August 24th, is a mix of a summer anthem & the song you wanna play the morning of the worst hangover of your life. It has a much more relaxed, fun sound to it. With help from the famously groovy Planet Giza, V really went digging into some new inspiration for this one! "Weight of the World" is a realization, that most don't pray for you. When V start his verse with a shot like "And I heard they were throwing dirt on my name" it puts the spotlight on the one wishing for his downfall. The album wraps itself up with "Different" where V turns the question around, addressing everyone else who might feel concerned "Feeling like you all the same and none of you different". The second verse, might just be the "best lyrical verse" of the album, with 22 rhymes using the word "twentytwo", an homage to Jay Z's famous "22 Twos".
