Barbara Tucker "Think (About It) (The Opolopo & 95 North Remixes - Spotify Edition)" (James Brown) + Remix Produced and Arranged by Opolopo @# Remix Produced and Arranged by Richard Peyton for 95 North Productions Vocals by Barbara Tucker Originally Produced by DJ Spen, Thommy Davis and Gary Hudgins Sax by Max Grunhard / Trumpet by Scott Baylis / Trombone by Richard Henry Vocals Recorded by Greg Lewis at Blacklist Media Additional Vocals by Sheila Ford, Thommy Davis and Sean Spencer Additional Vocals Recorded by Bill Pratt at Bratt Studio Sean Spencer & Thommy Davis Executive Producers "Think (About It)" was originally recorded 45 years ago in the summer of 1972 by the fiery Lyn Collins. Produced by the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, it barely scraped into the RnB Top 10 at the time and normally would have been discredited as just another great James Brown production. In 1987, it began being sampled by a new generation of Hip-Hop artists like Roxanne Shante, Robe Base, and DJ E-Z Rock. Suddenly, the world woke up to the possibilities of sampling; and since that point, "Think (About It)" has been sampled 1908 times and is the No. 3 most-sampled record of all time. So, for our 250th release, we've decided to commission remixes of Barbara Tucker's incredible rendition of one of our most successful productions. Opolopo really cut loose on this with a funky, disco-influenced groove containing real organs, synthesizers, and horn sections. Believe us; this mix is completely off the hook! This project also contains the production talents of house master Richard Payton, whose work as 95 North in the 90s remain nothing short of legendary. Needless to say, the 95 North, Vocal, and Acid Dub versions of "Think (About It)" are peak hour pieces that will heat up dance floors all summer long. Combining Opolopo and Richard Peyton seemed to be an appropriate way to do justice to a record that simply jumps outta the grooves. "Think (About It)" still has universal appeal and will be implanted within the DNA of dance music listeners across the world. 01 . Barbara Tucker "Think (About It)" + Opolopo Spotify Edit 02.
