Sunrise brings a gritty use of contrast – multiple layers of dreamlike delicacy and industrial weight intertwine and unite, to envelop listeners in a nostalgic yet ultimately refreshing manner. Powering through from the offset, pure techno emerges and rains down with increasing intensity, as waves of experimental details gear up and increase the volume and energy to immense degrees. One minute fifty sees the track peak for the first time – distorted synths collide with the chime of a distant, off-beat siren, surrounding listeners in a moment of high-octane, uplifting and immersive classic techno. Then comes the fall away, familiarity stands tall but there's a simple rhythmic calm to lock into as the track permits you room to breathe. Four minutes and four seconds in, the full-throttle drop kicks back up with heavy impact – recognisable now, keenly anticipated and all the more engaging for it. The patterns take the role of comforting and invigorating all at once, hopefully encapsulating the concept of the Sunrise to a worthy degree. Seeing things through to the finish is an intricate gathering of riffs – melody meets with rhythm, the rise and fall of the wave contrasts yet collaborates with the simple pulse of the beat, driving as one to the track's finish at a satisfying five thirty-nine.
