Few are the albums that manage to cement the career of an artist through the combination of the traditional and the experimentation of new sounds. Siempre Arriba is the 5th studio album by Baja California rapper Robot95 and the first under the Mexican label More Juice Records, coming on the heels of successful singles and release streak that greatly raised the bar and expectations in 2020. Siempre Arriba can be easily described. like the consolidation of the new Robot95 sound. A work that seamlessly fuses the most classic sound that the rapper made known: A Mexican boy throwing rhymes over G-Funk beats and creating images of relaxed Californian life (or in this case, Baja California) with a blunt on his lips. That sound is now amalgamated with the impeccable production of BeatBoy in which both artists immersed themselves in a process experimenting with new sounds: in Siempre Arriba there is Pop, Dancehall, tints of Trap more thrown to the psychedelic and much of the characteristic flow of Robot95 which has become his hallmark and identity. Speaking of the Artist / Producer dumbbell Robot95 wants to put in the spotlight on this album, it's strange that a synergy like the one created with BeatBoy on Siempre Arriba is achieved: mind-blowing beats and hypnotic tracks are the results of sound exploration, rhythms, and genres that have influenced both artists throughout their careers. The way they managed to integrate all these sounds into Robot95's characteristic flow is without a doubt something that will come as a surprise to both veteran fans and those who barely know the project. In the context of the album, "Siempre Arriba" is released after the unfortunate passing of Robot95's friend, producer, and manager, Alex Malverde. In the words of Robot95, Malverde was a strong influence on the creative process of the album and above all an inspiration to seek new sounds and get out of the comfort zone that often leaves artists stuck. The title "Siempre Arriba" (in addition to the pun that is the translation of "always high"), alludes to the feeling of euphoria that comes from living the good life despite the hard and sudden blows that we suffered during the previous months. Stop and turn to see friends, family, loves and apply the lessons that those who left before we thought.
