BALIK is the lead singer of the band DANAKIL. It's no more necessary to introduce him to the public, which follow this Parisian collective since the 2000'. In almost 20 years, the band became one of the first French reggae headliners, and never leave its position, delivering hundreds of hot lives and releasing iconic albums and singles. Among them the golden disk "Dialogue de Sourds", or the platinum single "Marley". For this new project, BALIK come back to his musical roots, diving into a cultural stream which run him since his beginnings. Feeding by French rap music since his adolescence, moved by the spirit and the social role transmitted by hip-hop and rap music, the artist has always claim to be part of those two strong musical trends. BALIK offers himself a parenthesis in parallel with DANAKIL, the outcome of several years of deep reflexion and meticulous preparation. As a result, a collection of poems of the modern times with afro/world sounds, an authentic hip-hop which try to take up the French rap music tradition mixing current codes of this music, and orchestrated by outstanding producers of the Parisian underground scene like TIGERZ et S.MOS. The album's mood switch between figures of speech and observations about the world and the daily life of the artist. We find also a very personal dimension in several more introspective songs. He shows in this opus a new facet of his art and himself without leaving his talents of storyteller, lyricist, his way to speak with simple and right words about life which make us crazy, in love, sad or happy... He offers us this album with humility and sincerity, to make us understand that this project was growing in himself since the beginning, and that its outcome represents an important step of his artist life.
