DAARA J FAMILY Featuring FAADA FREDDY & NDONGO D After more than 20 years of career, Daara J Family remains one of the leading groups of the hip-hop scene of West Africa and one of its best ambassadors. The duo has matured and between their respective solo projects, the two childhood friends Ndongo D and Faada Freddy, driven by the same ardor as their beginnings and with a new creative impulse, go back on the road! Daara means "school" in Wolof language. The duo Daara J was formed in the mid-90s in high school. The group released 6 albums including "Boomerang" in 2003 which will be dedicated Best African Act Award by the BBC. They had the opportunity to play with other bands and artists like Public Enemy, Wyclef Jean, or Mos Def ... They are currently working on a new album and are recording at Bois Sakre and Karantaba studios in Dakar. A first single entitled "Oye" will be released on March 2, 2018 and will show a new facet of the duo's production work, always adept at a cultural mix that resonates the best of Africa and hip-hop on modern beats.
