NINTENDO is the first single from Ronin Halloway's upcoming project EXCALIBUR II, produced by Devin Burgess. A companion project to EXCALIBUR (produced by XVII), EXCALIBUR II pushes the boundaries of modern jazz-influenced boom-bap sound. Taking cues from Flying Lotus, Knxwledge and MIKE, the songs flirt with the abstract, expanding and contracting around BPMs in free-falling fashion. While most emcees would opt for a chill, smoky approach, Halloway's feral delivery is as sharp as ever, dueling with the snares and percussion of Burgess's beats. EXCALIBUR II is a journey through murky swamps of sound, wrestling with turmoil and triumph, ultimately proving the mettle of these two Cincinnati artists.
