The Copenhagen based Producer Big Spoon (she/her) has teamed up with Londons rising star EMI.KKO (they/them) on this hot and vibrant new release. The hard hitting beat and heavy 808 combined with EMI.KKO's fresh and lush vocals, takes the listener on a seductive journey floating between r&b and alternative pop, making us all crave forbidden love. Hailing from the east, EMI.KKO rose from the concrete. In early 2019, they were taken on by Elton John's Rocket Music, working with them as an artist up until the liquidation of the company later that year. EMI.KKO has been honing their craft and growing as an artist behind the scenes over these past few years. They aim to redefine what it means to be an artist in this current climate. Using their personal battles with mental illness and escapism, EMI.KKO creates an immersive, dream-like experience by painting vivid pictures through sound, words and pure feeling. Danish /Senegalese producer Big Spoon, is also known for her artist project Kinck and as a songwriter, she has credits with labels like Ultra Music, Sony Music, Revealed Recordings, and Trap Nation. Big Spoon was created as a collaborative playground to explore a more alternative sound and her latest single Reverse Cowgirl written with Canadian soul singer Honey Larochelle got added to big Spotify playlists like Fresh Finds Dance and Outliers. The project is released on her own record label Sad Unicorn Recs that was created on feminist idea, intended to highlight minority voices. Hush Money Scandal is a fresh take on what pop music can sound like when the artists take control and create their own space. EMI.KKO and Big Spoon might just have created the perfect tune to start off the new year.
