Deeper Manila
June Marieezy is Deeper Manila's latest import with her stunning three-track hip-hop debut "Heavy Eyes", but before all things, let us know more about this very talented artist. Originally from Dallas, Texas, June has been residing in Manila since 2008. As a musician, she is part of an alternative rock band called Good Morning High Fives, but as a girl from the South, soul and hip-hop music are things she cannot simply keep in her closet forever-- and this is where the "Heavy Eyes' EP comes in. Together with Deeper Manila head honcho, Justin de Guzman, June Marieezy puts into sound her various experiences in Manila so far yielding three soulful hip-hop grooves as the latest on Deeper Manila! "Heavy Eyes' is a compilation of soundtracks tailor-made for people unwinding after a long stressful day in the urban jungle of Manila. First track is "Heavy Eyes"-- a chilled-down track that brings together Justin's soothing downtempo sound with June's laid-back melodies. Following the first track is "Happiness"-- a craft that features the fragile side of June's vocals as well as Justin's soulful sound. A deep and suave bass, a catchy chorus, and an upbeat make-up, these refer to the last track of the EP entitled "Sometimes"-- and this track effortlessly brings the release to a proper close!
