Press release : Known for his nonchalant flow and his modest lyrics, Jam is back today with Bettta, his first solo project. Through this intimate EP, the singer-songwriter proposes a return to the roots. A minimalist approach on bare music. Introspective texts on melancholic melodies. Along with his faithful collaborator Toast Dawg, Jam not only composes the lyrics but also produces almost all of Bettta's songs. Through this 7-track project, Jam surrounds himself with the artists Lary Kidd, Snail Kid and Robin Kerr, who blend perfectly with the singular atmosphere of the EP. Bio Jam : Known for his nonchalant flow and modest lyrics, David Beaudin-Kerr, a.k.a. Jam, is a singer-songwriter who has left his personal mark on Quebec hip-hop. Jam began his career with the duo Jam and P.Dox. He continued his career with K6A, an audio-visual creation collective that works in the hip-hop tradition. He has pleasantly distinguished himself in the art of French rap battle, participating in several WordUp Battles, rising among the favorites of the Francophonie. Over the years, Jam has appeared on numerous projects and collaborated with various artists such as Alaclair enssemble, Dead Obies, Loud Lary Ajust, Dramatik, Toast Dawg, FouKi and many others! Accompanied by his brother Gregory Beaudin-Kerr, aka Snail Kid (Dead Obies), and his Jamaican-born father, Robin Kerr (Uprising), the band Brown Family was born in 2016. From this family union comes their debut album Brown. Juxtaposing hip-hop, reggae, soul and dancehall, their first album was a huge success. The group then travels the roads of Quebec, marking the crowds with its unifying music, its committed lyrics and its family history. After participating in the historic Quebec rap tour L'Osstidtour alongside Alaclair Ensemble and Koriass, a tour nominated at the ADISQ in the category Show of the Year - Singer-Songwriter in 2017, Brown Family launches the POPLUV EP, featuring a few songs with a pop and summer flavor. In the fall of 2019, Brown Family is back with their new opus brown baby gone, once again pushing their introspection through all the nuances that define them, but this time tinged with a deep desire for escape and freedom. Jam returns today with Bettta, his first solo project. Through this intimate EP, Jam offers us a return to his roots. A minimalist approach on bare music. Introspective lyrics on melancholic tunes. No more music for young people, here is rap for adults.
