Lysgaard
Following up from March's "Drømmeslottet", Lysgaard is clearly not letting new tracks rot on the shelf this year. "Bård Goes to Canada" appears to be the result of the incredible current state of the Bergen house and techno scene, which is in a whole new heyday thanks to clubs like DOT, and the long-awaited international success of Skatebård amongst others. Lysgaard has been impressing us with a solid string of releases since 2016's Assemble EP, which sold out on Juno in less than a day. This latest addition to his discography is no exception, despite having no major label backing. I guess literally living in the woods have its downsides. Skatebård himself informs us he is touring in Canada for the first time this spring, how's that for synchronicity.
