Osquello returns with new single 'Back Home' featuring Desta French following up from his first release of 2021 'We Up'. Produced with Jkarri (PinkPantheress, Bel Cobain), it's the first instalment from a forthcoming, unannounced mixtape entitled 'Romero' which will be dropping at the end of 2021. From collaborations with Clairo, Declan McKenna, BROCKHAMPTON and many more under his belt, Osquello is a seasoned artist ready to step into a lane of his own, blending the rawness of hip hop, delicacy of jazz and authenticity of indie pop.
Osquello: 'For me this is the first of many songs that build up my journey to find "Paz Na Cidade" which translates to peace in the city . The song is about connecting to you roots and wondering if all along when racist nationalists England would tell you to go "back where you came from" or "back home" is actually for the best. Maybe wherever our roots resign and our people are , is where our home actually is . The meaning of home is often vaguely described and this song was an exploration as to what home really means . At the same I think it translates heavy to anyone on the way home after a long night out trying to realise who they truly are.'
Desta French: 'The song to me is about getting out of the city... the rat race, the confusion, the distractions, all the things get in the way of you connecting with who you truly are and what's really important'
