Run (feat. Wretch 32)Baby Blue
In the male dominated worlds of rappers Baby Blue is one of the few females who stands out both lyrically and musically.
At the age of 19 she sent her music to successful fellow UK artist Estelle, who immediately invited Blue to New York to record the song 'Hey Girl' featuring John Legend, as well as another track for Estelle's debut album 'The 18th Day,' and featured in the video for the hit '1980.' Later that year, Blue continued to build a solid underground foundation via mix-tapes and features with the likes of Ms Dynamite, Kardinal Offishall, So Solid Crew, Shystie, Sway, Akala and British pop legends Madness.
These huge collaboration were soon followed by Baby Blue supporting the now worldwide star Estelle on her US and European tour in 2008/2009.
With her fanbase now worldwide, Baby Blue is now ready to launch her self into the limelight as a solo artist.
"Run" is the first of her solo releases and features UK rap star Wretch 32. Produced by Nutty P, the track fuses gritty hip hop beats with a melodic and pop friendly chorus that gives her fans a glimpse of what's to come. With heavy rotation from BBC 1Xtra, Kiss Fm and Choice Fm, the track has certainly announced the return of Baby Blue.
"I've been a long time fan of female rapper Baby Blue (You may remember her from her features with International uk artist Estelle from her tunes 1980 & Don't Talk)
Since then, Blue seems to have raised the bar further and in my opinion has the potential to be the UK's first female rapper to do big things - watch this space!"
