Bryan Highhill originally started writing this song for Sonny Knight and the Lakers when he was regularly playing with them. The song was never quite finished before he left the band. A couple years later, Hennepin County Millionaires Club ended up tracking the final version, and Bryan asked Sonny if he'd do the vocals on it. Without hesitation, he agreed. A couple of months later, Johnny Becker, who Bryan started HCMC with, tragically passed away. A month or two after that, Sonny passed away. It's been a terribly rough time getting through all of that and knowing that this song is the last recording that both Johnny and Sonny performed on. It has become an extremely special and personal recording. We're so grateful to be able to turn it on whenever we want and hear our friends again.
