this one's for larryPrymo
Coming from the bustling slums of the Philippines, Prymo was a precocious kid that was born into a family of musicians. In his early teens, he relocated to the birthplace of Philippine Hip-hop, and his early exposure to the street culture and third-world living conditions shaped a fresh perspective about the world around him. He started his career young, participating in impromptu street rap battles and doing guest spots on other artists' songs as early as thirteen years old. Not having much agency at the time, Prymo had to improvise and adapt to the artists' demands, often having to adopt different genre conventions and write whole verses from scratch the same day as the recording session, which in turn gave him an eclectic and flexible style during live performances. At fifteen years old, Prymo immigrated to Jackson, MS, and despite not having any guidance whatsoever, built a career all over again. He released his first solo mixtape, Exit Childhood EP, before he turned eighteen and followed it up with experimental body of works like The broly. EP, its "Extended Cut" version and The Kitchen EP. He recently released his new lo-fi inspired project, this one's for larry.
