Life of Puffin is a Bergen-based producer of smooth deep house and modern soul, an up-and-comer who caught the eye of Mhost Likely last year. His debut single lands on the Mhost Likely Green sub-label in collaboration with Jungelen, bringing us the sun-soaked warmth of the Life Of Puffin universe. The single is followed by a minimal house version made by Duv Tales & Kim Young Ill, and a reissue of 'Jeg Vet', alongside a deep house remix from Life Of Puffin. All together this release is a perfect backdrop for the breezy Scandinavian summers. 'Breeze' is all about a laid-back summer vibe: the title track draws you in with its subtlety. Blissful synth chords wave over-sensitive soul vocals and gorgeously African drums that evoke beach walks and waves glittering in the sun. The blissed-out tune is part of the Life Of Puffin universe: "And so the story begins, a breeze came from far away and swept Puffin out at sea. The wind was warm and strong and guided Puffin through the unpredictable and treacherous jaws of the ocean. While out at sea, the breeze was whispering and singing legendary epos of the hollow bamboo. Puffin was so mesmerized and moved by these stories that the bamboo never left his mind" The remix from the Oslo-based duo Duv Tales and Kim Young Ill is a hazy version of 'Breezer'. A sub-bass groover that ebbs and flows between deep house relaxation and tasteful minimal textures. 'Jeg Vet' by Duv Tales and Kim Young Ill is a reissue from last year, and Life of Puffin has made a deep house version for the day party, with an added dash of bass and percussion to get the hips swinging.
