Urban Tales, Vol. 2Artcha
UTV:2 is a hard-hitting album unraveling the labyrinth of relationships in the city, and the
complexities that emerge in the wider context of politics, cultures, and hierarchies that
shape our choices and realities. On tracks like Stella (featuring LA Gray) and Destiny,
Artcha explores the potency of sexual attractions and the different perspectives that men and
women approach their interactions. Circles (featuring Tendai) is an honest and brutal
account of the games played, and of false representations made in pursuit of sexual
satisfaction. In sum, the album is a mature and brutal tale of the experience of adult
relationships - and forms the second chapter in a trilogy of concept albums that expresses
our shared stories of growth.
Artcha is an Artist/Producer hailing from Tottenham in North London. Heavily influenced by
his upbringing with his mother of Jamaican descent, as a young child, he developed a
fascination with art, literature, and music. His earliest experiments in music production
featured a second-hand Atari ST and Yamaha keyboard, tucked away in his bedroom.
Artcha is a veteran of the UK hip hop scene. Growing up in eleven-man group The One Crew with
artists like 'Tha 4orce' and 'Sway', his music takes inspiration from garage, grime, hip hop
and beyond. Both as a solo artist and as a member of hip hop supergroup FRSHRZ (MCs Artcha,
SKANDOUZ & Dray Styles), Artcha writes and produces music that tackles contemporary issues,
weaves stories and challenges audiences to think deeply.
